The Plague
Adiris was abandoned at the Temple of Purgation in Babylon as a child and rose to serve it, cutting off her own toe as an offering when the sickness came anyway. Vile Purge infects survivors and the fountains they cleanse at, and Corrupt Intervention blocks the far generators at the start.

The Blight
Talbot Grimes made a productivity serum for the British East India Company that killed the workers it was tested on, and was left for dead in a mass grave before monks pulled him out. Blighted Corruption lets him rush and bounce off walls, and Hex: Undying keeps his other totems alive.

The Skull Merchant
Adriana Imai grew up on Sonhadores Sombrios, her father Seita's unpublished manga about a woman hunting with skull drones, and then built the drones herself. She lured a fireworks executive into a disused Brazilian airship hangar and killed the witnesses too, and Eyes in the Sky still does her scanning.

Gabriel Soma was an engineer on Dvarka when HUX-A7 killed the crew and built itself a hybrid body, and he escaped into the alien forest through the blast at the fuel hub. Made for This and Troubleshooter are field engineering under fire.

Taurie Cain went into the Bleed at Göbekli Tepe without protective gear to find her parents, and got out only because her brother Ewan drew the creatures off in an oversized hazmat suit. Shoulder the Burden takes another survivor's hook state, and Invocation: Treacherous Crows costs her something to warn the rest.

Family Residence
Family Residence is the Yamaoka Estate house in Kagawa, patched up with cheap mouldy materials by a father working himself past exhaustion over university fees and hospital bills. The repairs failed, and something older woke up.
