The Dredge

The Dredge came out of The Fold, a 1960s island commune whose leader Otto Stamper sacrificed a journalist on a wooden stage and set off the massacre that followed. Reign of Darkness lets it teleport between lockers and drop the whole map into night, and Darkness Revealed reads every locker at once.

The Oni

Kazan Yamaoka killed his own father in a duel while hunting men trading on the samurai name, and was beaten to death by farmers in a stone mill. Yamaoka's Wrath builds from the blood he collects, then hands him a charge nobody outruns, and Blood Echo keeps the survivors bleeding.

The Krasue

Burong Sukapat drank an elixir handed to her by Malai, a fellow singer, and began coming apart at night. She killed her childhood friend Janjira in that state and Malai after her, and Unbodied Flesh still sends her head and entrails out ahead of her body.

Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage read a script called Descend Beyond, flew to a Pacific island for it, and was walked by armed guards to the director Pauline Stamper at an ancient temple, where the scene turned out to be a ritual. Dramaturgy rolls the dice on his next move, and Plot Twist lets him go down on purpose.

Adam Francis

Adam Francis trained in Kagoshima after taking a teaching post overseas, and walked away from a derailment that flipped the carriages upside down. Deliverance lets him free himself from a hook, and Autodidact turns his own missed skill checks into skill.

The Temple of Purgation

The Temple of Purgation is a three-storey stone temple in the Red Forest, taken straight out of the Plague's memories. A gold tablet inside carries Akkadian cuneiform reading Iddin-Sin, after the king of Simurrum.
